Quantum computing is opening up new ways to solve problems that were previously impractical due to their computational scale or complexity. The domain where commercial use and social implementation are most advanced is combinatorial optimization — the area where quantum annealers and Ising machines excel.
Building on the implementation expertise we have cultivated through software acceleration on diverse hardware such as multicore CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs, Fixstars provides end-to-end support for quantum computing, from research and development to practical business applications.
Domains where quantum computing is expected to be applied
- Manufacturing
- Production & workforce scheduling, design-parameter optimization
- Logistics & transport
- Delivery-route optimization, warehouse staffing, dispatch & matching
- Materials & chemicals
- Materials discovery, formulation & operating-condition optimization
- Finance
- Portfolio optimization
- Traffic & energy
- Signal control, energy-management optimization
- Media & advertising
- Ad-transaction & inventory-allocation optimization
Customer challenges
We're not sure whether quantum computing will help solve our problem.
We don't know how to approach evaluating quantum computing.
We have an application in mind, but development is challenging.
We don't have in-house quantum-computing expertise to evaluate or select the technology.
What we offer
Seminars and training
For those considering quantum computer adoption or interested in the latest trends, we offer seminars and training on research trends, real-world use cases, and practical usage.
Consulting
For companies and research institutions considering adoption, we provide implementation support — including setup help and consultation on partitioning and converting your problems into forms quantum computers can handle effectively.
Cloud execution environment
We provide cloud-based access to quantum computers. Short-term trial use is available, ideal for evaluation during the consideration phase.
Software acceleration and development support
In addition to our existing acceleration for CPU, GPU, and FPGA, we add quantum computers — proposing and implementing processing tailored to your algorithms and applications to accelerate your system.

Fixstars and quantum computing
Since becoming the first Japanese company to partner with D-Wave Systems in 2017, we have continued to work toward the practical use of quantum computing. Launched in 2021, Fixstars Amplify supports a wide range of quantum / Ising machines and mathematical-optimization solvers, and we continuously expand the supported environment through collaboration.
