Overview
As quantum computing is adopted and matures, it promises to solve problems that were previously intractable
due to computational complexity — paving the way for a more capable, more efficient society.
In the domain where commercial use and social implementation are most advanced — combinatorial optimization
using quantum annealers and Ising machines — we provide support across the spectrum, from research and
development to practical business applications.
Fixstars provides quantum computing enablement services alongside our software acceleration services on diverse hardware including multicore CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs.

Fixstars and quantum computing
In 2017, we became the first Japanese company to partner with D-Wave
Systems, the commercial provider of annealing-based quantum computers.
Since 2021, Fixstars Amplify has offered a quantum annealing cloud with a high-performance, GPU-based
computational backend that interoperates with quantum annealers. We collaborate widely with companies
including D-Wave, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Toshiba, and NEC.
What is Fixstars Amplify?
Fixstars Amplify is a cloud platform for building applications that work with any Ising machine. From PoCs to production problems, it enables simple, efficient application development.

Accelerating social implementation through Q-STAR
We have participated from the founding phase as a board company in Q-STAR (Council for New Industries through Quantum Technology), established in September
2021 to create new industries through quantum technology — and we are accelerating the social
implementation of quantum computing technology.
As quantum computer R&D is still developing, a software platform that lets users implement business applications is
essential as a bridge between users and the implementation technology. We are leading efforts using
Fixstars Amplify as a standard development and execution environment — validating use cases against member
companies' real challenges and pursuing global standardization through collaboration with quantum-related
organizations abroad.
