Fixstars Amplify Expands Quantum Computer Providers and Algorithms
Empowering Combinatorial Optimization R&D via Amazon Braket and New Algorithms
IRVINE, California – May 22, 2026 – Fixstars Corporation (TSE Prime: 3687; President and CEO: Satoshi Miki), a leading company in performance engineering, today announced that its group company Fixstars Amplify Corporation (President and CEO: Yoshiki Matsuda) has launched Amplify Quantum, a new extension to the Fixstars Amplify SDK—a software development environment for quantum computing—that significantly enhances support for optimization on quantum computers.
The Fixstars Amplify SDK has long provided a unified development environment for solving combinatorial optimization problems across a wide range of quantum annealers and Ising machines. With Amplify Quantum, users can now connect more easily to IBM Quantum[1], Qulacs[2], and Amazon Braket[3]*, further strengthening support for quantum computers. The newly added Amazon Braket integration, in particular, significantly expands the range of available solvers.

Accelerating R&D on Quantum Optimization
Quantum computers vary widely in qubit count, error rates, and other characteristics depending on the provider and device. Unlocking their full potential therefore requires identifying the optimal device-algorithm pairing from a broad set of options.
Amplify Quantum is designed to meet these advanced R&D needs and provides a platform to support the future development of quantum computing through the following features.
Key Features of Amplify Quantum
Seamless access to diverse computing resources: Amazon Braket provides access to quantum computers from multiple vendors, substantially expanding the choice of available quantum hardware and simulators. By simply swapping the SDK's client class, users can run optimizations and benchmark performance across different quantum devices using a single, unified codebase, eliminating the need for device-specific programming.
Expanded support for algorithms: In addition to the previously supported Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) [4], Amplify Quantum now supports several other leading quantum optimization algorithms, allowing users to select and execute the best-suited algorithm for each device's characteristics.
Support for additional quantum computers and algorithms will continue to expand over time.

Note 1: IBM Quantum
IBM Quantum is the collective name for IBM's research, development, and commercialization initiatives in quantum
computing, as well as its associated cloud services. Through the cloud, users can access IBM's state-of-the-art
quantum hardware and simulators to run and study quantum algorithms.
Note 2: Qulacs
An open-source quantum circuit simulator developed by a research group including Osaka University and QunaSys Inc.,
recognized as one of the world's fastest. It enables high-speed simulation of large-scale quantum computers on
classical hardware and is widely used in quantum algorithm research and development.
Note 3: Amazon Braket
A fully managed quantum computing service from Amazon Web Services (AWS). From a single AWS environment, developers
can access quantum hardware based on multiple modalities (superconducting, ion trap, etc.) from various manufacturers,
along with high-performance simulators, to build, test, and run algorithms in one place.
Note 4: Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA)
A quantum algorithm designed to solve combinatorial optimization problems—finding the best solution among a vast set
of possibilities. It is designed to run on today's noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) devices and is expected to
be applied to a wide range of real-world challenges, including logistics route optimization, financial portfolio
construction, and new materials discovery.
