Fixstars announces the establishment of joint venture "Fixstars Autonomous Technologies"

Fixstars Corporation   (CEO: Satoshi Miki, Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as "Fixstars") announced today that it has agreed to establish a joint venture company to strengthen the relationship with NEXTY Electronics Corporation open_in_new (Representative Director: Akagi Atsugi, Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as "NEXTY Electronics") in the field of automatic operation.

As realization of automated driving is taking on reality, not only corporations and research institutes involved in the Automotive industry but also IT companies in Europe and the United States have entered, research competition for realization is increasingly fierce every day. Under such circumstances, we concluded a contract at this time to further accelerate the research and development of automated operation by combining Fixstars' software technology with the customer base of NEXTY Electronics and partner company network.

Fixstars devoted to "Speed up your business", we have been providing total solution utilizing state-of-the-art software technology and high-performance hardware such as parallel optimization and software optimization technology that maximizes the performance of hardware.

NEXTY Electronics was established in April last year as Tomen Electronics merged with Toyotsu Electronics as the core company of the electronics business in the Toyota Tsusho Group. We have a customer base and a partner company network across the world and overseas, and we offer various solutions mainly for car electronics represented by automated operation.

In order to realize automated operation, we acquire a large amount of data through learning on the data center side, inference on the edge side, and various sensors through constraints such as high reliability, low delay and low power consumption. In addition, sensor fusion etc. which realizes advanced recognition functions must be processed at high speed. To that end, it is required to speed up the entire system, taking into account the development of advanced algorithms and their implementation, as well as the utilization of dedicated chips.

We will provide solutions directly connected to the improvement of competitiveness of our client companies for the Automotive industry that will combine the software technology capabilities that Fixstars has cultivated over many years with project management capabilities and networks of NEXTY Electronics and will undergo a major transformation period of automated operation.
