What is Yellow Dog Enterprise Linux?

Yellow Dog Enterprise Linux is a board support package built upon the world renowned Yellow Dog Linux OS, coupled with support for every Cell/B.E. based system on the market today.

As the Cell/B.E. multi-core CPU offers astonishing performance capability for optimized code on a unique offering of hardware from select vendors, it is critical that the development environment is complete, the deployment simple, and the runtime environment be treated as mission critical.

What does Yellow Dog Enterprise Linux support cover?

Yellow Dog Enterprise Linux support covers installation, configuration, and use of the computer system from power-on through network configuration including local or netboot functions; post-boot network configuration and realworld connectivity. This technical support does not include code porting nor optimization. These support items may be covered under an additional support contract.

Important reminder about PLAYSTATION(R) 3

Sony has announced that the 3.21 firmware that will be released on April 1st 2010 will remove the OtherOS feature on old, large form factor PLAYSTATION(R) 3s. So if you upgrade to the new firmware, you will NOT be able to run Yellow Dog Linux.
IMPORTANT: If continued use of Linux on your PS3 is desired, do not update the firmware on your PS3 after March 31 2010. For more information to SONY's new firmware, please visit:
