Job Description	Fixstars is seeking a talented new member for their Linux Engineering Team based in Victoria BC Canada. Fixstars' Linux Engineering Team develops market leading Linux solutions for multi-core computing technologies such as the Cell/B.E. and GPU computing.
Education and Experience	A college diploma or university degree in a relevant field of study. Demonstrated real world experience developing software products or services.
Personal Attributes	The successful candidate will have a feet-wet, figure-it-out, and get-it-done attitude. They will learn new technologies and methodologies quickly and provide effective problem solving skills under pressure. They will required to be meticulously organized and able to communicate effectively to management, other members of Fixstars' Linux Engineering team, and both customers and partners.
Required Skills	Understanding of all components required in a modern Linux distribution and how they work together. Software build systems such as make, autoconf, ant, and rpmbuild. Programming Languages incuding C/C++, Python, PyGTK, and Shell scripting Formalized Quality Assurance procedures, Software Revision Control, and software defect tracking. Basic network theory including TCP/IP and services such as DHCP, TFTP, HTTP, and NFS. Active involvement in the Open Source community is preferred.
