Aiming to Lead the Century of “Intelligence”
Tomohiko Hasegawa
Chairman
20th century was the century of “products”.Humankind became affluent through the producing and shipping of products.
The information revolution of the late 20th century carried over into the 21st century, and today's knowledge revolution has turned this century into the century of “intelligence”. The backbone of the “products” century was the steel industry, and similarly the backbone of the “intelligence” century will be the software industry.
We aim to lead the software industry, the new backbone of this century of “intelligence”, with innovation and excellence.
How do we do this?
First and foremost, this is about “people”. It is definitely not about “ideas”. To become a leader in a field full of ideas first startups, going into this battle with frivolous ideas will not suffice. Talented individuals must think thoroughly, that is how good ideas are born, all employees must aim for success, and that is how we can become successful. The other important factor is “trust”. Trust from the employees, trust to the employees, trust from the customers, trust from the shareholders, and trust from the society at large. Trusted companies create good environments that lead to success, where as distrusted companies always fail. The worst case examples of lack of trust has been the recent series of corporate misconducts, however companies that win trust in this environment can use it as its greatest resource and turn it into infinite source of energy for success. Fixstars hopes to become the shining star in the software universe by properly valuing “people” and “trust”, and that is my wish. We will advance forward with our ideals, that “we will enrich the future!”
Aiming at the Peak of Software Technology

Chief Executive Officer
With the advent of multi-core microprocessors, the knowledge and skills required by software developers are becoming ever more demanding.
From high level application development to low level hardware control, a master programmer will write code that is more elegant and robust than code written together by 10 above average programmers.
The number of companies in Japan that specialize in software development is like the number of stars in the universe, but most of these companies specialize in the upstream process and the training software engineers, but they often end up neglecting the training of programmers which should be an important aspect, and this produces system after system that do not run properly.
At Fixstars, we believe in our programmers, and we promise to provide innovative software to better, not just Japan, but the whole world with our group of brilliant programmers.
We aim to become citizens of the world where
“The Art of Computer Programming”
holds true, as the great Dr. Knuth aptly describes in his book title.
