Satoshi Miki
CEO / Founder
As Fixstars' chief executive officer, Satoshi is responsible for all of Fixstars operations, as well as leading the company's service development and technology strategy. He founded Fixstars in 2002, and assumed CEO. Prior to Fixstars, Satoshi founded and held the position as an executive vice-president of SoftWorld in Japan and directed numerous software development projects, including online financial trading system. Satoshi earned his bachelor's degree in commerce from Waseda University and has conducted a research on Cell/B.E. software at Tsukuba University.
Akihiro Asahara
COO
As Fixstars' Solutions COO, Aki is leading all of software product development and marketing. Since joining Fixstars in 2008, he has put tremendous effort into promoting multi core processors through his article contribution and lecture activities. Prior to joining Fixstars, Aki worked for IBM where he was involved in developing Cell/B.E. based products for medical imaging devices and a project manager to develop the special purpose blade server for a CCD inspection machine. He holds a Ph.D. in astrophysics from Kyoto University. Aki also holds a MBA degree from the Waseda University, where he graduated with a first-class honors degree.
Owen Stampflee
Linux Product Manager
Owen is not only a chief maintainer of Yellow Dog Linux, but also a manager of all Fixstars' Linux-based products. Before joining Fixstars, he was the director of engineering and executive board member at Terra Soft Solutions, inc. Owen gained his extensive Linux knowledge from his contribution to numerous open source communities for over ten years.
Michael A. Cusumano
Management Strategy Advisor
Michael A. Cusumano is the Sloan Management Review Distinguished Professor of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management, with a joint appointment in the MIT Engineering Systems Division.
He specializes in strategy, product development, and entrepreneurship in the computer software industry, as well as automobiles and consumer electronics.
He teaches courses on The Business of Software and Digital Platforms, Strategic Management, and Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
He is the founder and head of the MIT Sloan School’s M.S. in Management Studies Program and previously served as editor-in-chief and chairman of the MIT Sloan Management Review.
He was appointed as the Management Strategy Advisor for Fixstars in 2008.
